Strengthening regional childcare services through strategic migration pathways.

The challenge
A major not-for-profit youth services provider was grappling with a severe shortage of childcare workers across regional Australia. Local recruitment efforts weren’t keeping pace with community needs, placing pressure on service delivery in areas already facing limited access to early childhood education.
What we did
We worked closely with the organisation’s team to understand their operational needs and long-term workforce goals. From there, we provided targeted immigration advice, prepared submissions for endorsement from the relevant regional development authorities, and lodged Labour Agreement requests with the Department of Home Affairs under two Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs).
The outcome
We helped the not-for-profit provider secure two Labour Agreements, unlocking new pathways to sponsor qualified childcare workers in regions experiencing acute shortages.
This relief was both immediate and long term. It created a sustainable workforce pipeline that allows essential childcare services to stay open, stable, and accessible for the communities that rely on them.
In short
Strategic migration support helped major not-for-profit youth services provider keep vital community services running across regional Australian areas, where they’re needed most.
